The design of this residence is heavily inspired by iconic science fiction cinema, most notably resembling the Millennium Falcon from Star Wars. Inside, the home continues its theme of futuristic luxury with an air-pressure elevator encased in a conical gilded cage, reminiscent of the teleportation technology from Star Trek. The concept for this unique villa originated from a client’s desire to integrate their love for science fiction films into their living space. This vision led Bespoke Architects on a journey infused with the principles of Taoism, a philosophy deeply rooted in understanding the natural balance and essence of life. The villa is strategically placed to maximize ocean views while maintaining privacy on a relatively narrow plot, a challenge that was met with innovative architectural solutions grounded in fractal geometry and the golden ratio.
The social areas of the house are elevated to take advantage of the views, with the private spaces situated lower to maintain intimacy and solitude. The dynamic relationship between the elevated pool and the architectural form of the house creates a strong visual connection to the surrounding landscape.
Entering the villa is a journey in itself. The approach is designed to slowly reveal its features, from the secluded garden that leads to the main entrance to the golden cylinder that catches the sunlight through the skylight, creating a warm, reflective interior atmosphere.
