The TAG Heuer Carrera Chronosprint x Porsche Rallye Watch celebrates a historic moment in motorsport history. In 1965, Porsche made its mark at the Monte Carlo Rally with the newly introduced 911, finishing in fifth place with a lightly modified road car. Equipped with a Heuer Rally Master timing set, car number “147” navigated the challenging snow-covered mountain roads, cementing its place in rally history. This achievement now serves as the inspiration for TAG Heuer and Porsche’s latest collaboration.
Designed to echo the aesthetic of the Rally Master timer, the watch dial features beige markings reminiscent of the original 911’s steering wheel. A red-highlighted section on the right side of the flange pays homage to the 8.4-second 0-100 km/h sprint of the 1965 Porsche 911. The timepiece is powered by the in-house TH20-08 Chronosprint movement, which showcases an innovative chronograph seconds hand that accelerates rapidly for the first 10 seconds before gradually decelerating. This mimics the rev counters found in classic sports cars, a feature first introduced in the 2023 Carrera Chronosprint x Porsche.
The Carrera Chronosprint x Porsche Rallye is available in both stainless steel and 18k yellow gold versions. The steel model comes with a classic three-link bracelet, while the gold version is paired with a perforated black leather strap. Each watch is presented in a wooden box alongside a miniature replica of the Porsche 911 “147,” further tying it to its rally heritage.
A black-dial variant of the Carrera Chronosprint x Porsche brings additional refinements. This version replaces the silver-toned steel of the 2023 model with a glossy black finish and either rhodium- or gold-plated hands, indices, and subdial rings. The watch also incorporates historical Porsche dashboard details, including a 50-55 second highlight on the running seconds subdial, referencing the 50km/h speed limit indicator from the 1970s. Similarly, the right-side hour subdial features a marked range between 6.8 and 12 to signify the 6,800 RPM limit of the era.
Encased in a 42mm Glassbox case with a domed sapphire crystal and a 48.6mm lug-to-lug span, the watch maintains a sleek yet robust profile. The TH20-08 automatic chronograph movement is visible through the exhibition caseback, featuring a Porsche-inspired three-spoke steering wheel rotor. Water-resistant up to 100 meters, the watch is available with either a stainless steel bracelet or a perforated calfskin leather strap, black for the steel model and brown for the gold.
This limited-edition release consists of 911 stainless steel pieces and just 11 in gold. Priced at $10,250 for the steel version and $24,600 for the gold, the Carrera Chronosprint x Porsche Rallye Watch is a true collector’s piece, available now through TAG Heuer’s website.
