Rolex has introduced the Oyster Perpetual Land-Dweller, a new addition to its Classic line, available in 36 mm and 40 mm case sizes with a fully integrated Flat Jubilee bracelet. This model brings a fresh look to the collection with a redesigned fluted bezel, noticeably broader than those found on other Rolex Classic models. In precious metal versions, the bezel can be set with trapeze-cut diamonds, adding a layer of luxury to the sporty elegance of the watch. Crafted for durability, the Oyster case is waterproof to a depth of 100 metres and includes specific adjustments to its waterproofing system to suit the satin-finished upper middle case. Its curved, chamfered sides and polished bevels highlight Rolex’s attention to detail.
At the heart of the Land-Dweller is calibre 7135, a new self-winding mechanical movement based on calibre 7140. Operating at 5 Hz with a power reserve of 66 hours, it features the Dynapulse escapement and a new oscillator for enhanced timekeeping performance. The transparent sapphire case back reveals the decorative touches inside the movement, including bridges with Rolex Côtes de Genève and a yellow gold oscillating weight. The honeycomb-patterned dial is available in different finishes and colors, such as a satin-finished white version and an ice blue sunray-finished option exclusive to the platinum model. The hour markers and hands are coated with a patented luminescent material, while the 6 and 9 numerals borrow their modern, open-centre design from the Explorer and Air-King.
The Flat Jubilee bracelet updates the 1945 classic design with fully flat five-piece links. Its construction includes polished centre links and satin-finished outer links with polished chamfered edges, creating a continuous flow of light from the bracelet to the case. A new attachment system with ceramic inserts improves durability and has been submitted for patent protection. The bracelet closes with a concealed folding Crownclasp. Each watch in the Land-Dweller line meets Rolex’s Superlative Chronometer standard, with a precision rating of -2/+2 seconds per day and backed by a five-year international guarantee.
The Land-Dweller 40 is priced at €15,350 in Oystersteel and white gold (M127334), €47,400 in Everose gold (M127335), and €64,200 in platinum (M127336). The 36 mm models are slightly lower in price: €14,450 for the Oystersteel and white gold version (M127234), €43,300 in Everose gold (M127235), and €59,800 in platinum (M127236). Everose gold and platinum models in both sizes are also available with diamond-set bezels for those seeking an even more refined look. Also be sure to check the most expensive Rolex ever sold.
