Hublot and Takashi Murakami have unveiled the second timepiece in their collaboration, the Classic Fusion Takashi Murakami Sapphire Rainbow, a watch inspired by his iconic flower designs. The new watch, still based on the smiling flower as a central theme of Japanese artwork and culture for centuries past, has moved from black to color with transparent effects.
The japanese designer has translated his trademark smiling flower into a spectrum of 384 gemstones – including rubies, amethysts, tsavorites, and pink, blue, yellow, and orange sapphires – all set within a fully transparent 45mm sapphire crystal hublot case. The bejeweled petals of the smiling flower are mounted on a ball bearing system which allows them to spin independently when the watch is worn on the wrist. beneath the flower is a hublot HUB1214 automatic movement with a power reserve of 72 hours.
Only 100 examples of the Hublot Classic Fusion Takashi Murakami Sapphire Rainbow will be made, and the watch is available now through authorized dealers at an MSRP of $106,000. Also we recommend you to check our list of the most expensive watches in the world.
