Alpina has broadened its horizons with the introduction of four new additions to its Alpiner Extreme Automatic series. These timepieces are now presented in a modern, more compact 39 mm x 40.5 mm stainless steel case, designed for trendsetters seeking a smaller size.
The latest offerings are available in three distinct dial colors: turquoise, fir green, and pebble beige, each complemented by a robust steel bracelet. The pebble beige model is uniquely available with an optional coordinated rubber strap, adding versatility to the design.
These watches feature a cushion-shaped case with a round bezel, which is firmly secured by six screws, each topped with a head shaped like the iconic Alpina triangle. This motif is consistently represented throughout the design, also appearing on the screw-down crown equipped with a rubber grip to match the dial color.
Alpina has paid meticulous attention to detail in the design of these watches. The cases exhibit dynamic lines accentuated by a blend of satin-brushed surfaces and polished edges, enhancing the visual appeal. The water resistance of these timepieces is impressive, capable of withstanding pressures up to 20 ATM (200 meters / 660 feet).
The face of the watch is protected by anti-reflective sapphire crystal and showcases a subtle triangular pattern. The hands and indexes are treated with white luminescent material that emits a green glow in the dark, ensuring readability in low light conditions. A striking red triangle on the second hand adds a vibrant touch, reflecting the brand’s logo.
Positioned at 3 o’clock on the dial is a practical date aperture. The watches are powered by the reliable AL-525 calibre, a self-winding movement based on the Sellita SW200-1. It offers a 38-hour power reserve and operates at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour). This movement is also used in the larger 41 mm x 42.5 mm model of the Alpiner Extreme Automatic.
The finishing touches include a brushed and polished stainless steel bracelet as well as a rubber strap, both secured with a folding buckle featuring security push buttons.
Priced at €1,695 for the rubber strap model and €1,995 for the metal bracelet version, the Alpiner Extreme Automatic 39 promises sophistication and durability. Make sure to check back next week for our detailed hands-on review of these exquisite timepieces. Also be sure to check other luxury watches
