At the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show, Koenigsegg introduced the world to its then-all-new Jesko – an insanely high-performance, road-legal track weapon with a 300-mph top speed that the Swedish marque touted as the world’s first “Megacar.” Fast forward approximately three years later to today, and the Ängelholm outfit has now pulled the cover off of an even more capable variant of the Megacar known as the Jesko Absolut.
This new factory test mule takes its name from the fact that it’s the absolute fastest car that Koenigsegg has ever produced in it 28-year history. Coming on the heels of the Jesko Attack pre-production variant from last year, the even-more-impressive Absolut-spec retains the base model’s insanely-potent twin-turbocharged 5.0-liter flat-plane crank V8 and a full suite of carbon fiber aero elements – the former of which is mated to a 9-speed Koenigsegg Light Speed transmission and cranks out up to 1,600hp and 1,106ft-lbs of torque (when sipping E85 biofuel) while the latter produces as much as 2,200lbs of downforce.
Cloaked in a Graphite Gray livery, the Jesko Absolut now boasts even faster shifting and has been optimized for better high-speed stability, with an ultra-slippery drag coefficient of just 0.278 Cd. These changes have allowed this factory test vehicle to achieve an even more-raising top speed of 330mph – roughly double the speed at which jetliners take off – which will make it the fastest production car on Earth, should it see the light of day.
Expected to begin deliveries later this year, the Koenigsegg Jesko will be limited to only 125 units worldwide, with pricing starting from around the $3,000,000 mark. Supposedly, all 125 specimens are already spoken for, too. It is, however, unclear if the company will be offering a limited-production version of the Absolut or the Attack versions.
