In 1974, Louise Piëch received a one-of-a-kind 911 Turbo prototype for her 70th birthday. It was distinguished from the eventual production model by its narrow Carrera chassis and a smaller 2.7-liter turbocharged engine, setting it apart from the 3.0-liter engine used in later production models. Finished in silver with a custom tartan interior, this early 911 Turbo bore signature details that captured Porsche’s pioneering spirit.

Porsche’s tribute vehicle, the 911 Turbo Remastered, revives the essence of Piëch’s car while showcasing the possibilities of the Sonderwunsch program, which specializes in custom, hand-finished Porsches. Painted in GT Silver, the Remastered edition features the Sport Design Package, Austrian autobahn decals, and a vintage “Turbo” badge authorized by Porsche Classic. The interior draws from the 1974 prototype with retro-green illuminated dials, and the Lipstick Red and black cabin incorporates red-blue tartan trim, paying homage to the original interior.

This 911 Turbo Remastered is powered by a modern 3.75-liter turbocharged flat-six from the 992-generation 911 Turbo, producing 572 hp and 553 ft lbs of torque. Mated to an eight-speed PDK gearbox, the car accelerates from zero to 62 mph in 2.8 seconds, reaching a top speed of 199 mph. This performance aligns with the standard 992 Turbo but with exclusive design elements like matte black accents and bespoke, retro-styled five-spoke wheels inspired by the original’s Fuchs alloys.
