Ichiban’s electric motorcycle is shaping up to be something special. Inspired by Japanese design principles, it blends sleek minimalism with high performance, making it both a functional machine and a piece of art. If you’ve ever watched Akira and dreamed of riding a bike like Kaneda’s, this might be as close as it gets – minus the whole cyberpunk dystopia. Ichiban isn’t just copying the aesthetic, though. They’ve taken that retro-futuristic look and refined it through the Japanese principle of Kanso , which focuses on simplicity and purity. The result is a motorcycle that feels both futuristic and timeless.
If you’ve followed Ichiban on Instagram, you’ve probably seen their incredible bike renders over the years. They slowed down posting recently, but for good reason – they’ve been working on making one of their concepts a reality. With the help of industrial designer Ivan Zhurba, they’re now getting closer to launching their first production model. Turning a concept into a working prototype is no small task, but they’ve made enough progress to share some key details.
The bike will be powered by a 45kW dual-motor setup, offering an estimated 155-mile range. Need a quick boost? A 30-minute charge gets you back to 70%. Performance-wise, it’s expected to hit 0-60 mph in just 3.5 seconds. And then there’s Godzilla Mode – a feature that unleashes insane torque for 10 seconds of pure adrenaline. Just in case you ever feel like your daily commute needs a little more excitement. Other features include ABS, traction control, and multiple ride modes (yet to be revealed).
There’s no official price or release date yet, but Ichiban is serious about bringing this to production.
