Electric vehicles are evolving, and Olympian Motors is at the forefront with its innovative Model 01. This electric sedan redefines expectations with its unique blend of classic aesthetics and modern technology.
Hailing from New York, Olympian Motors has crafted the Model 01 as a four-door, four-passenger vehicle, showcasing a sleek rear-wheel-drive design. What sets it apart is its construction: a robust combination of military-grade carbon fiber and titanium. This sturdy build rests on a Super Board “skateboard chassis” developed by U Power Tech, a renowned Chinese electric mobility company.
Under the hood, the Model 01 is equipped with a 310-hp (228-kW) motor. This powerplant is capable of delivering 305 lb ft (414 Nm) of torque, enabling the car to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) in just 5.7 seconds. The car doesn’t just impress with its speed, boasting a top speed of 160 mph (257 km/h). When driven more conservatively, its 400V/82-kWh lithium-ion battery promises a range of approximately 305 miles (491 km) on a single charge.
Olympian Motors has taken a unique approach to the vehicle’s interior, merging luxury with minimalism. The cabin is adorned with sustainably sourced materials including exotic woods, steel, cashmere, and silk, creating an aura of old-world elegance. Yet, in a twist, traditional buttons and switches are almost entirely absent. Instead, 80% of these functions have been integrated into a Heads-Up Display (HUD) on the windshield and an advanced voice-command system. This system controls everything from the infotainment and climate control to seat adjustments and lighting.
Safety hasn’t been overlooked. The Model 01 is equipped with up to nine airbags and features laminated glass across all windows and the roof canopy, ensuring maximum protection for its occupants.
Olympian Motors is now inviting potential buyers from the US, Canada, and China to reserve their own Model 01 with a refundable $500 deposit. Priced at US$80,000, the Founders Edition of the Model 01 is expected to start reaching customers in May, following test-drive events in various American cities beginning in April.
In addition to the Model 01, Olympian Motors is also working on the Model 84, a more futuristic-looking electric vehicle.
For those eager to see the Model 01 in action, a video presentation is available, providing a closer look at this remarkable blend of classic design and modern electric vehicle technology.
