  1. These biker helmets are undeniably cool and creative, but let me say this: as a biker, I’m against using such helmets on the road. If you’re wearing one just for Instagram photos, that’s totally fine. But on the road, these helmets can distract drivers, which can lead to accidents, potentially involving the bikers themselves.

Older drivers might get startled and make a wrong turn or suddenly stop, possibly even panic. Younger drivers could get too caught up in checking out these “creative” helmets instead of focusing on the road, which can also cause accidents.

In short, these helmets are best kept for photos.

  2. This is the perfect example of everything NOT to do to a helmet. The purpose of a helmet is to protect your head and more importantly your brain from impact in the event of a crash. Adding things to the outside which will compromise the shell creates point loads like nails which can be driven through the shell and the adhesives may damage the chemical make up. Helmets are designed to be smooth so they slide and don’t catch on road surfaces where they can snap your neck. Last helmets are required by LAW to be tested and approved for rider safety. I’d be willing to bet none of these would pass even the most lenient testing.

  3. I would love a disco ball helmet, not sure what the safety standards are on something like that? DOT approved, i think not!

  4. These are all pretty cool – the “Demon Skull”, and “Daft Punk” ones would be the ones I’d opt for – something too freaky about a full face painted on the helmet, and I still like my helmet to…well…look like a helmet.

The issue is that very likely, unless they have some agreement with the helmet manufacturers, these will invalidate the DOT rating and most certainly the warranty on a helmet – even having the wrong kind of sticker on your helmet can invalidate your warranty.

  5. I want a matte black skull themed open face full head and face protection helmet.
